KISC like you’ve never seen it before!

Kandersteg International Scout Centre’s location, nestled in the Swiss Alps at 1,200m above sea level, makes it the perfect base for a winter activity holiday for Scouts and Guides too. A sweeping scene of snow-capped mountains and rolling white pastures, KISC becomes a magical wonderland in winter.

You still get the same camaraderie and buzz from morning till night as you would experience in the summer months and there’s still an exceptional array of activities right on your doorstep. Try your hand at cross country skiing and igloo building, rev up for sledging and learn something new with winter survival experiences. And when the sun sets, warm up under the stars at the International Campfire where budding new friendships await.

If you’re on the look out for a truly unique experience, then a winter activity trip to KISC in Switzerland may be just what you’re looking for!

Fantastic indoor group accommodation

There is a fantastic choice of indoor accommodation at KISC perfect for groups of any size – with one of our top picks ‘Old Chalet’. With over 180 beds, this building accommodates multiple groups who can meet and share tales of their time away in the amazing common room areas, each equipped with a fireplace. It’s important to know, however, that the dormitory-style bedrooms will not be shared between groups.

For groups who would prefer a private chalet, the nearby Sunneblick is a great choice.

Activities and Excursions

The snow covered Swiss Alps are the backdrop for some amazing winter activities, many of which are led by experienced mountain guides.

This is now the third time I have used Venture Abroad, we visited Kandersteg in 2016 and Iceland in 2023. Venture Abroad are great to deal with, nothing is too much trouble and her expert help and advice is much valued. I would never consider an international trip without Venture Abroad.
