Lochranza Centre CIC
The Lochranza Centre CIC has been providing outdoor education and immersion for over 45 years!
Located at the northern tip of the Isle of Arran, you’ll be surrounded by lush forestry, mountain terrain, and diverse coastal habitats. The centre is well-equipped to host large groups, with residential accommodation including shared bunk rooms with either access to an en-suite bathroom or a separate shower and toilet block. The leader’s accommodation offers comfortable single and twin rooms, each with its own en-suite and hot drink facilities. The centre also provides tasty, freshly cooked breakfasts and three-course evening meals as well as preparing packed lunches, perfect to take with you as you explore the wonderful highlands!
You’ll find a range of communal facilities at the centre, including a TV lounge and games room, a leaders’ lounge, Wi-Fi, a drying room and a kit store for outdoor gear and an on-site gift shop.

Gorge walking
You’ll be guided on an adventure through a series of obstacles up the River Sannox. See who can withstand the river flow and keep upright in this challenging walk. Scramble across rocks, stumble upon clear pools, and find the beautiful falls.
Mountain walking
If you’re looking to witness some immense views of the Scottish Isles, mountain walking is for you! You can hike through the mountain ranges in Arran for picturesque landscapes, wonderful fresh air, and to be at one with nature!
How could your trip to the Isle of Arran look?
It’s important to remember that all our itineraries are tailor-made. There’s no fixed itinerary; every activity holiday is different. That said, we know it’s helpful to see how your time away could look, so here’s a sample itinerary to get the ideas flowing.
Day 1
The first day will begin with you travelling to the ferry port and then just a short 55 minutes aboard before you depart to your accommodation. The staff will then welcome you with a tour of the centre, followed by a cosy film night in the common room.
Day 2
Reach new heights as you spend the morning learning to abseil and conquer ladders, and in the afternoon, work together and compete with your comrades to see who can build the best raft. Return to your accommodation for an evening of friendly rivalry during a fun-filled quiz night!
Day 3
Spend a relaxing morning sailing across the water in open canoes, then head off to the hills for some adrenaline-fuelled mountain biking. In the evening, head off on a mystery trail, who knows where you’ll venture to!
Day 4
Start another morning with calmness as you kayak or paddleboard across crystal clear waters. Get back to dry land for an afternoon of teamwork and collaboration as you solve problems! Spend your final night by the campfire as you reminisce about all the fun you’ve had!
Day 5
In the morning, depart for the ferry crossing, then continue your journey home.
