Their adventure to Norway was no exception! The group of 26 young members and their leaders embarked on their third international with Venture Abroad after travelling to Switzerland in 2022 and Iceland in 2017, continuing their tradition of inspiring overseas escapades and creating memories to last a lifetime.

The Scouts jumped into the action and adventure Norway had to offer. From rock climbing and abseiling, canoeing and kayaking, white water rafting and so much more, each activity brought a variety of new experiences and challenges, but ultimately helps them build confidence, strengthen bonds and create magical memories together.
Here is what the group leader, James Alying had to say about their exploration of Norway.
How would you describe your summer adventure, and was there a moment when you thought, “This is exactly why we did this”?
Our international camp to Norway was awesome and another epic journey for our group, making this our sixth event with Venture Abroad. TrollAktiv Norway is a brilliant location that has activity and adventure at its core. From the offsite excursions to everything available on site, it is a truly unique experience. Seeing the groups mix together, alongside the laughter, smiles, and buzz around the activity centre, made every bit of effort worthwhile. The highlight was undoubtedly the white-water rafting, which rounded off the trip superbly.
Why would you recommend the destination you visited to other schools or groups?
I would recommend Norway to groups of all ages, though this specific location was particularly ideal for Scouts and Explorers. The centre adapts activities appropriately for each age group, ensuring there is genuine adventure and stretch for everyone from climbing to white water rafting. The site offers endless options for downtime with both indoor and outdoor facilities, including a campfire area, mini-golf, volleyball court, and playground. There are also plenty of woodland trails to explore and a lake for swimming. I highly recommend it, and we will certainly be back in the future.
What did the team at Venture Abroad do to make things easier, smoother, or less stressful than expected?
As always, the team was immensely supportive and flexible with my ambitions. I constantly want to add extra elements or surprises to our trips, and Venture Abroad always adapts to ensure everything happens seamlessly. Whether accommodating additional activities, providing contacts for local bookings, or offering flexibility within the itinerary, they make the whole experience worthwhile. I cannot rate Venture Abroad highly enough and will certainly continue using them for our future trips.
