What a whirlwind of summer adventure it’s been! We’ve seen a total of 77 units embark on a journey of a lifetime across Europe and beyond. From the magical Disneyland Paris to the World War 1 trenches in Belgium to the Taj Mahal in India, our groups have had experiences like no other.

Each trip has been jam-packed full of fulfilling moments and memories that will last a lifetime, offering inspiration to young members through cultural exploration, history, geography and of course plenty of adventure!

We love seeing your trips come to life, from that initial idea to the detailed planning, all the way through to the memories you make during action-packed days!

Our internal team are hard at work behind the scenes to ensure you get the most out of your international trip. In destinations such as Adelboden and KISC, our in-resort reps are there to support you during your visit. With the knowledge of the local area, transport links and more, they are an added bonus to ensure your trip runs smoothly.

KISC

Scouting’s Home in the Swiss Alps

This year, our groups in KISC and Adelboden were joined by the Venture Abroad Marketing Team, who accompanied them on some exciting excursions, learned about the value of international travel for uniformed groups and captured some amazing memories!

Immerse yourself with the camaraderie and friendship that comes with being amongst the Scouts! At KISC, you’ll feel the buzz of eagerness and anticipation of what’s to come, whether it’s meeting international Scouts or taking off on adrenaline-fuelled activities.

Epping Eagles

The marketing team got the opportunity to travel to Switzerland to meet with Epping Eagles as they explored the area. The group got to witness the breathtaking Oeschinesee, ride the toboggan down a mountain side participated in the Swiss National Day commemorations. This was an event not to be missed! Filled with thousands of Scouts from all over the world celebrating what it means to be part of this community.

An exhilarating global journey that spans from the mountain peaks all the way down to the tranquil lakeshores, experienced alongside a wonderful mix of energetic youth and inspiring adults.

Christchurch Darley Scouts

With a mixture of Scouting activities at KISC and city exploration of Bern and the local Swiss villages, it was an itinerary crafted for cultural immersion and adventure! It gave the perfect balance between the traditional alpine experience and the historic nature of the capital city where the group explored the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, museums and more!

Adelboden

Connecting Guides Globally

One of the most iconic destinations amongst Guides, Adelboden is the picture-perfect location for an international trip for uniformed groups. Surrounded by ice capped mountains, charming villages and adventure at every turn, it’s the ideal place to unplug and immerse yourself in the traditional Swiss way!

2nd and 3rd Hexham Guides

The marketing team also joined the 2nd and 3rd Hexham Guides on their magical trip to Switzerland. The team joined them on some of their exciting excursions around Adelboden, including action-packed activity centre, a delicious visit to the chocolate factory, white water rafting and a tour of the WAGGGS World Centre and Our Chalet. Epic Landscapes, Endless Wonder

12th Fife East Neuk Scouts

The 12th Fife East Neuk Scouts had a wonderful time camping under the stars during their trip to Iceland. They had the ultimate icy adventure filled with white water rafting, glacier walks, a visit to the secret lagoon and the tour of the Golden Circle. Their itinerary was the perfect blend of action and culture, with day trip to the vibrant Nordic capital, Reykjavík.

An amazing trip making lots of memories! Our favourite moment was the Glacier walk as we have never done anything like this before. The whole trip was fantastic for start to finish.

Girlguiding Nottinghamshire

Girlguiding Nottinghamshire’s trip to Iceland did not disappoint! After spending their days at the secret lagoon, experiencing the Golden Circle Tour and hiking across a glacier, they were honoured to meet the UK ambassador to Iceland during their trip to Reykjavík. To top off their Icelandic escapades, they even got to see whales in the wild!

Colours, Culture, and Connection

A once-in a lifetime experience adventure for Girl Guides, India offers rich history, magnificent architecture and the opportunity to participate in international programmes and local projects at the Sangam World Centre. You’ll be amazed by the beauty of the country as you explore its most famous cities and sights, tasting delicious food and meeting local communities.

 Our trip to India was a sensory delight, all the stories we heard before going are true – we leave excited, enchanted, humbled & forever grateful to have had the opportunity to go, India has left an imprint in our hearts that we will carry forward.

Girlguiding Lancashire East journeyed across the world to India, and what an inspiring experience it was! The group stayed at the WAGGGS World Centre in Sangam, where they took part in local community projects and met people in neighbouring villages. There, they learned about global Girlguiding and Girl Scouting initiatives, as well as wider community movements. Of course, no trip to India would be complete without visiting one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the majestic Taj Mahal, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Red Fort of Agra!
