Groups around the world
India’s Calling
Girlguiding Lancashire East has embarked on an incredible journey to India, and along the way, they got a shout-out on the BBC 2 Scott Mills Breakfast Show! Click here and skip to 1:18:40 to listen for the shoutout!
So far, they’ve thrown themselves into their travels, starting with a guided tour of Mumbai and beginning their programme at the Sangam WAGGGS World Centre. Here, they’re taking part in community action projects, visiting the local area and families, and getting creative in art sessions. The group has also had a shopping trip to the local markets, purchasing saris and engaging with Indian customs.

The adventure doesn’t stop there! The group will be exploring Pune before heading to Delhi to experience the awe-inspiring Golden Triangle. Known for its rich and beautiful history, magnificent architecture, and the vibrant and delicious street food scene, this is a tour you must add to your bucket list when visiting India! The Taj Mahal is another essential landmark to see, as one of the Wonders of the World; its majestic structure is truly one to behold!
Ice Ice Iceland Baby!
Girlguiding Nottingham has been getting the full Icelandic experience with a tour of the Golden Circle, a dip in a secret lagoon, hiking across a glacier, sailing the open waters, and spotting some whales! A special moment for the group was meeting the UK ambassador of Iceland during their time in Reykjavik, what an honour! We can’t wait to see what else their trip brings.

What's been happening in Switzerland?
We’ve seen all sorts of adventures taking place in Switzerland, from groups participating in thrilling mountain tubing, soaking up some city culture in Bern, to celebrating the magical Swiss National Day with parades, music, food, and connecting with others on an international scale. They’re lifetime memories in the making!

The Marketing Team Returns from their Swiss Travels
The marketing team also ventured to Switzerland for the first time, and what a magical experience it was! They immersed themselves in the world of Scouting and Guiding, connecting with groups, leaders, and excursion providers, while taking in the breathtaking surroundings. The team even participated in some adventurous and cultural activities such as white–water rafting, visiting the cheesemakers, and of course, Our Chalet!

Nicky Astle, Marketing Manager, shares her trip reflections:
The conversations and experiences we all shared will certainly stay with me into my future. I personally found the trip both overwhelming and inspiring – talking to fellow leaders, seeing the camaraderie groups share, and of course learning more about how Scouting and Guiding can give young people many enriching life experiences through these trips.
Reflecting on the trip, there is no doubt in our minds that each and every member was in the very best position to achieve this when supported by you all! Each group we met was all so welcoming, enthusiastic, and full of spirit… qualities that made the entire experience so special not just for us, but for everyone involved. We truly loved every minute of it!
Adventure of a Lifetime
It’s clear that these trips are more than just a holiday; they offer life-changing experiences filled with connection, culture, and joy. Whether it’s making friends around an international campfire, engaging with the local communities, or visiting iconic landmarks, we know each group will return with incredible stories to share, and there’s only more to come!
