Gelateria Frida’s
Gelateria Frida’s is located just off the high street on Dorfplatz in Adelboden centre. This ice cream parlour serves a variety of delicious flavours, as well as coffee and other refreshments. With its central location, it is perfect for cooling off on a warm day during the summer season!
Engstligenfälle Waterfall Loop
When heading in the direction of Engstligenalp Cable Car station at the base of the mountain, why not make use of the accessible footpaths which surround the lower waterfalls?
The Lower Waterfall Loop is a great way to get up close to one of the highest waterfalls in Switzerland. Setting off from Unter dem Birg cable car station, the loop takes around an hour to complete, and follows a scenic woodland trail. Top tip – when walking in and around Adelboden and beyond, the app SwissTopo has plenty of handy maps and tools to help plan your route!
Alpengarten Höreli
Open year round, this Alpine garden holds around 500 flower and herb species and is free to visit! The garden is managed by volunteers, and its appearance changes with different plants on a weekly basis. See if you can spot native Alpine flowers such as the famous Edelweiss! Top tip – if you enjoy hiking and panoramic views, the Hörnliweg Circular Hike starts and ends in the centre of Adelboden, and the garden forms part of the route.
Self Service Honesty Shops
When out and about in Adelboden, be sure to look out for the many honesty shops dotted around town. Often outside the houses of residents, these are usually small shop fronts often displaying local or handmade items. The wares being sold can range from fresh eggs and local cheeses, to jewellery and woodcarved toys.
