Disneyland Paris is a consistent favourite among Girlguiding and Scouting groups, and for good reason. It’s close to home, making it the perfect getaway for first-time adventurers, not to mention the abundance of Disney magic at every turn!
From rapid rollercoasters to tasty treats and immersive themed areas, there’s something for everyone, which is why the 9th Rotherham Guides ventured to Disneyland for a 3-day whirlwind trip of action, fun and friendship.
Here’s what they got up to:
The adventure began as soon as the group departed from the Bramley Scout and Guides Headquarters, making their way towards Disneyland Paris. Once checked in, they enjoyed a relaxed evening at their leisure before a couple of jam-packed days ahead.
After fuelling up on a delicious continental breakfast buffet, the group boarded the coach and set off to the Disneyland Theme Park, where they were greeted by the iconic Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, favourite childhood characters, and an atmosphere filled with excitement and anticipation.
The moment we realised why we had done the trip was when we arrived in Paris on the first day; the sun was shining, and we had the opportunity to see all of the sights. The girls had a wonderful experience that they wouldn’t have otherwise had; also, the look on their faces and the excitement on entering Disneyland was priceless. – Katie Skelton
The Guide’s time at the park was filled with thrills and making unforgettable memories, from braving daring rollercoasters to trying classic Disneyland treats, such as the Mickey Mouse-shaped pizza. And after all that buzz, they rounded off he day by enjoying the breathtaking Disney Tales of Magic Nighttime Spectacular. The group witnessed the incredible display of state-of-the-art projections transform the castle into a huge canvas for mesmerising 3D imagery, accompanied by synchronised pyrotechnics, fireworks and music. It was truly an amazing moment!
Working with Venture Abroad to make travel dreams possible
After three days, it was finally time for the 9th Rotherham Guides to return home. With a coach packed full of tired Guides and leaders, souvenirs and plenty of stories to tell friends and family back home, the trip was an unforgettable success with the support of Venture Abroad.
Venture Abroad were amazing right from the moment we enquired; the support they gave me on booking and organising our very first international trip was invaluable. They took care of most things, including booking the hotel, transport and park passes and gave support regarding things such as border control and the new EES. The communication was efficient and timely ad they were always happy to help no matter how big or small the questions. – Katie Skelton
A truly magical experience for all
Whether it was conquering thrilling rides or travelling without parents for the first time, activity trips for Girlguiding groups provide an opportunity to strengthen bonds, build confidence and create memories that stay with them for years to come.
I would recommend Disneyland to other groups as it has something for everyone, from younger children to adults and smaller riders to thrill seekers. There was so much to do and see, and the evening shows were fantastic to watch. – Katie Skelton
