As over 2,400 passengers begin their journey, let’s take a look at how we’re gearing up for what’s to come!
Setting Up Camp
An essential part of any summer season in Switzerland is setting up camp and creating shelter for mealtimes. Liz, her partner, and Emily from the Venture Abroad team have embarked on a 768.5-mile journey to set up 40 tents, along with a dining shelter, for Scout and Guide groups visiting Switzerland. This is an essential part of creating an unforgettable season of camping, camaraderie, and exploration!
The Venture Abroad Marketing Team Heads Off to Switzerland
The marketing team is also heading out to Switzerland for the first time and will be joining a few of you on tour! They’re there to get the full Swiss Scouting and Guiding experience first-hand and see how international trips impact them, explore new cultures, and take part in the exciting excursions Venture Abroad has to offer.
The team’s looking forward to celebrating Swiss National Day, trying out white water rafting, tobogganing through the countryside, visiting Oeschinesee Lake, and taking in all of the stunning alpine views.
Girlguiding Herefordshire’s Pre-Tour Residential Weekend
The Venture Abroad recently joined Girlguiding Herefordshire for their second residential weekend in preparation for their upcoming Switzerland trip. The weekend provided valuable time for the guides to bond, plan their meal, cover safety information on tour, and personalise their kits.
The guides also came up with creative games they could play on tour with limited supplies, and they even created a code of conduct to follow during their time abroad. Find out more about what they got up to during their residential here.

Reps, Reps, Reps!
Our 2025 reps joined Venture Abroad at their head office to participate in training for the approaching summer season. During this session, they learned about joining Venture Abroad as a rep, daily duties, logistics, and how to handle challenges on tour.
They also received creative ideas for capturing memorable images, from group special moments to daring activities.
